For the first time in 20 years, the Cook Islands were chosen to host the Ms South Pacific Pageant, and Crown Beach Resort was chosen as the venue to cater for this Gala Event on Saturday 9th December, 2015.
Eight stunningly beautiful contestants from other Island Nations within the South Pacific Region competed for the coveted Ms South Pacific Crown, and the right to move on to the Ms Universe Competition.
The visually spectacular 20-meter-long and 8-meter-high Grand Buffet prepared by the Crown Beach Resort Kitchen Brigade, featured authentic and typical dishes originating from the Nations competing in the Event. Each of the beauty queens proudly introduced their favorited dishes and spoke of the ‘story behind the food’.
An immaculately decorated Royal Pa’ata, complete with handsome and muscle-bound local warriors [painted in gold] was used to carry each of the contestants up on to the stage for their presentation and moment of fame with the news media from the entire South Pacific Island Region.
The Event was attended by; their Excellencies Tom and Tuaine Marsters, Queen Elizabeth the 2nd’s Representatives; Nick and Christine Hurley, New Zealand High Commissioner: as well as members of the Cook Islands Parliament, Tribal Leaders, Captains on Commerce, Community Leaders and of course – are lovely Crown Beach Resort Guests.
Ms Papua New Guinea was crowned as Ms South Pacific, with Ms American Samoa and Ms Kingdom of Tonga coming second and third respectively.
